Lucky New Year Slot

Lucky New Year is an interesting online slot game which was developed and released by iGaming giant Pragmatic Play in 2018. Inspired by the infamous Chinese New Year, this slot game is one of the more unique titles among Pragmatic Play’s expansive online slots portfolio, with distinctive gameplay and visuals. In terms of bonuses, the developers have added many additional features to Lucky New Year, which may be triggered at random during play.

Lucky New Year Game Background

The base gameplay in Lucky New Year will take place across a 5x3 playgrid, a similar layout found in many classic slots in the industry. Across this 5-reel setup, there are 25 fixed paylines, all beginning at the leftmost reel and running in adjacent columns. During gameplay, matching combinations may occur here if identical symbols land across one of the paylines.

The Lucky New Year slot game features a unique Asian theme, drawing inspiration from other oriental slots in the industry. The gameplay is set against a traditional Chinese temple, with the reels featuring a dark purple backdrop that complements the temple's overall red design. Behind the play area in the Lucky New Year slot, a purple skyline is visible, with fireworks exploding frequently, enhancing the overall aesthetic.

There are many games here at BOYLE Casino with an Asian theme, including Super 88 Fortunes and Fu Wu Shi Gold Blitz Ultimate.

Lucky New Year Bonus Features

To add to the base gameplay in the Lucky New Year slot, Pragmatic Play has added a selection of bonus features. In the online casino industry, many games feature wild symbols, and this title does the same. Wild symbols have been added to the gameplay of Lucky New Year, which can substitute for any base game symbol to create or extend a matching combination.

In the gameplay of the Lucky New Year slot, landing scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 will trigger the free spins feature. During this bonus feature, reels 2, 3, and 4 will combine into one giant symbol. Each time 3 scatter symbols appear on the reels during this bonus feature, +3 additional free spins will be awarded.

Pragmatic Play has also added the money respins feature into the gameplay of Lucky New Year slot if 6 or more money symbols appear on the reels in the same spin. These money symbols will take a value from a predefined set, either a minor or a major jackpot value. To begin the money respins feature here, 3 respins will be awarded, where all base game symbols are removed from the reels, allowing only money symbols and blanks to appear. In this bonus feature in Lucky New Year, each money symbol that appears on the reels will become sticky on the reels, remaining on the play area until the bonus concludes. In addition to becoming sticky on the reels, any new landed money symbols will reset the respins count to its original value. This bonus feature will continue until all respins are finished or until every reel position contains a money symbol, at which point the grand jackpot will be awarded. Once the money respin feature concludes, the values of all symbols on the reels will be awarded, and players will return to base gameplay.
