Joker Maxima Slot

Lucksome reverts back to old-school visual design with the Joker Maxima slot, despite this release making its casino debut in July 2021. This title draws a lot of graphical inspiration from classic slot games; however, this does not mean that the gameplay style is traditional, too. Instead, there are a plethora of mechanics included in this Joker Maxima slot, ranging from free spin modes and multipliers to respins and modified wilds.

Joker Maxima Game Background

Like many online slots nowadays, the playgrid in this Lucksome release follows a conventional design blueprint. There are a total of 5 reels in this Joker Maxima slot, each of which produces 3 random rows of symbols per spin. Across the red-tinted columns, bordered by a gold frame, are 10 paylines, all of which work from left to right during gameplay.

Fixed to the top of this play area is the golden Joker Maxima slot logo, with the rest of the backdrop being filled by a checkered pattern. This is teal in colour, with the pattern somewhat resembling the diamonds found on playing cards. Nestled across the bottom border of the screen is the user interface and all buttons, with the simplistic layout of this Joker Maxima slot somewhat resembling titles such as Reel King Mega and Super Hot Fruits in the same classic genre.

Joker Maxima Slot Symbols

In terms of symbols, there are 6 base game ones that might land randomly across the 5 reels of this Joker Maxima slot. All of these have been taken directly from old-school fruit machines, but have had a visual upgrade thanks to modern graphics, with the lower-valued ones being juicy fruits, and the higher-valued icons being icons such as bells and 7s.

Lower Value Symbols:

Cherry
Lemon

Medium Value Symbols:

Grapes
Watermelon

Higher Value Symbols:

Gold Bell
Flaming Seven (7)

As should come as no surprise given the name of the Joker Maxima slot, there is a jester bonus symbol in this release that has the role of the wild. In addition to this, there are also some blue diamond star scatters, as well as some golden versions of the base game symbols that carry 2x multipliers.

Joker Maxima Bonus Features

Kicking the bonuses in this Joker Maxima slot off with the jester wilds, these have the potential to land randomly across any of the 5 reels that make up the playgrid. If they do so, they might step in for all other base game fruit machine symbols, due to the fact that they can assume their value thanks to the substitution abilities they possess.

However, if multiple jester wilds appear across the same payline, one of the following multiplier values could be triggered in this Joker Maxima slot:

1 wild along a payline could trigger a 2x multiplier.
2 wilds along a payline could trigger a 4x multiplier.
3 wilds along a payline could trigger an 8x multiplier.
4 wilds along a payline could trigger a 16x multiplier.

Should players land 3 or more of the blue diamond star scatters simultaneously, this could trigger the Joker Maxima free spins round. In this, if any combinations are formed, the symbols involved lock in place. Following this, all other symbols are respun, with this being referred to as the ‘Joker Streak Respins’ feature.

In the instance that only 2 blue diamond star scatters appear at the same time, though, this can instead trigger the ‘Lucksome Locks’ mechanic. This sees the scatters also become sticky on the reels, while all other symbol segments are respun. If another scatter lands in this respin, the Joker Maxima bonus round may be triggered.

The last of the bonuses in the Joker Maxima slot relates back to the golden variants of the base game symbols. If these land in a combination at random, they could apply their 2x multipliers to the other symbols involved.

Joker Maxima Mobile Play

Computers, smartphones, and tablets can all access this Joker Maxima slot without the experience being hindered at all. This is down to Lucksome integrating HTML5 software into most of their online casino games, allowing both graphics and gameplay to resize automatically to different screen sizes, with just an internet connection being required.

When taking everything into consideration, it is clear to see why this Joker Maxima slot became a popular entrant in Lucksome’s catalogue. The blend of old-school imagery and contemporary bonuses works impressively here, showcasing the expertise of the producers.

The Joker Maxima slot is just one modern release that combines retro-inspired graphics and a variety of modern gameplay elements. There are several other titles that follow this same design approach, with Golden Winner Grand Chance and Cash Strike Triple Fire being just two examples.
